Baseball Recap: Augusta Comes Up Short

Augusta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 18-4 to the Melrose-Mindoro Mustangs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Beavers of the 13-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Augusta saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Schroeder, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That hit marked the first that Schroeder got this season.

Augusta's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Melrose-Mindoro, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Augusta will square off against rival Eleva-Strum at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Melrose-Mindoro is set to face off against their familiar foe Independence/Gilmanton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
