Volleyball Game Preview: Andrews Mustangs vs. Pecos Eagles

Andrews is 8-2 against Pecos since October of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Mustangs will welcome the Eagles at 12:00 p.m. Pecos took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Andrews, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Andrews was able to grind out a solid win over Greenwood, taking the game 3-1.

The victory didn't come easy: Greenwood scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 20-25, 25-18, 25-22.

Andrews got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Macie Miller out in front who had 17 digs. That's the most digs Miller has posted over her last seven matches. Another player making a difference was Charli Salgado, who had 12 digs.

Meanwhile, Pecos came up short against Monahans on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Eagles have struggled against the Loboes recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-12, 25-10.

Pecos' loss dropped their record down to 4-19. As for Andrews, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-6 record this season.

Everything went Andrews' way against Pecos in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as Andrews made off with a 3-0 victory. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
