Soccer Preview: Geneva and Glenbard South Square Off

The Geneva Vikings will square off against the Glenbard South Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Geneva is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against St. Charles North on Tuesday. The Vikings and the North Stars finished up their game with a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, Glenbard South's game on Tuesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They had just enough and edged out Elmwood Park 2-1. The victory was all the more spectacular given Glenbard South's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 334th, while Elmwood Park are ranked 126th).

Geneva's draw makes their record 3-1-1 this season. As for Glenbard South, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

Geneva took their victory against Glenbard South the last time they met, on September 11, 2025 last season by a conclusive 4-0 score. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll have the answer soon enough.
