Volleyball Recap: Soquel Knights vs. Vintage Crushers
With a playoff game on the line, Soquel rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Vintage Crushers.
While Soquel might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Vintage scored at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-21, 13-25, 25-18.
Soquel's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lily Juarez-Sapone, who had 11 digs and five aces. That's the most aces Juarez-Sapone has posted since back in September of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Gemma Reyes, who had 20 digs.
Soquel's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-15. As for Vintage, they moved to 16-17 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
Soquel will challenge Liberty Ranch at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Vintage does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
