Baseball Recap: Cooper Takes a Loss

Cooper came into this matchup off a tough seven-run defeat last Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Grand Saline Indians by a score of 10-8 on Saturday. The Bulldogs' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Cooper got a massive performance out of Jace Meeks, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Levi O'Neal, who went 1-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Cooper's record is now 15-5. As for Grand Saline, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 15-8-2.

Looking ahead, Cooper will head out to take on Campbell at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.76 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Grand Saline, they will be playing at home against Brownsboro at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
