Basketball Recap: De Leon Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask De Leon). They managed a 46-42 win over the Dublin Lions on Saturday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bearcats as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Despite the loss, Dublin still got an impressive performance from Olivia Salyer, who posted 15 points and five rebounds. Salyer's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Adriana Rosalez was another key player, putting up seven points.

De Leon's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Dublin, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

De Leon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 65-27 loss against Eula on the 10th. As for Dublin, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 43-25 defeat against Tolar on the 10th.
