Basketball Recap: Sweet Springs Takes a Loss

Sweet Springs was the 42-33 winner over Crest Ridge when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Sweet Springs Greyhounds fell 47-34 to the Crest Ridge Cougars on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Greyhounds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 501st, while the Cougars are ranked 203rd).

Kayley Marten continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Crest Ridge, going 5-for-7 to rack up 12 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Gracyn Vanwey, who posted 14 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Sweet Springs and nudges their season record down to 3-14. As for Crest Ridge, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-5.

Sweet Springs has already played their next contest (against Lawson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Crest Ridge, they have already played their next match, a 51-46 win against St. Paul Lutheran on the 20th.
