Soccer Game Preview: Sickles vs. East Lake

The Sickles Gryphons will challenge the East Lake Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Sickles sitting on four straight wins and East Lake on five.

Sickles is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Mitchell, sneaking past 2-1. That's two games straight that the Gryphons have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, East Lake got the win against Parrish Community on Tuesday by a conclusive 5-1. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 12 matches by three goals or more so far this season.

East Lake's victory bumped their record up to 16-2-3. As for Sickles, their win bumped their record up to 11-3-5.

Sickles was able to grind out a solid victory over East Lake in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 3-1. Will Sickles repeat their success, or does East Lake have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
