Baseball Recap: Westfield Gets the Win

Westfield came out on top against Union Catholic on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fifth inning. The Blue Devils walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Vikings. This was a revenge game for the Blue Devils: when they faced off against the Vikings on Monday, they had to take a 9-5 defeat.

The team relied heavily on Alex Lawrence, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one triple. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brian Jordan, who earned two runs and one stolen base.

Westfield's record is now 9-10. As for Union Catholic, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-9-1 record this season.
