Basketball Game Preview: Harrison Hoyas vs. Hillgrove Hawks

Harrison is 0-10 against Hillgrove since January of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Harrison Hoyas will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hillgrove Hawks at 7:30 p.m. Harrison has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Last Friday, Harrison narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Campbell 59-56. The win was all the more spectacular given the Hoyas' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 144th, while the Spartans are ranked 45th).

Hillgrove has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They came up short against McEachern on Friday, falling 67-43. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Hawks have suffered since December 26, 2024.

Hillgrove's loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Harrison, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-9.

Harrison came up short against Hillgrove when the teams last played on January 9th, falling 71-60. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Hillgrove's Asa Montgomery, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds.
