Baseball Recap: Taylor Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Taylor entered their tilt with Finneytown on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Wildcats 16-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-1 back in April.

Jackson Todorov made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Todorov was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bradley Heckman, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Paff, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.

Taylor kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 10.8.

Taylor's win bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Finneytown, they dropped their record down to 3-12 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Taylor will head out to square off against Middletown at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Finneytown, they will challenge Reading at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
