Deer Valley had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 70-49 margin over the Peoria Panthers. Given the Skyhawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while the Panthers are ranked 213th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Deer Valley has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Peoria, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.

Deer Valley will face off against Agua Fria at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Agua Fria: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home, while Deer Valley has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road. As for Peoria, they will challenge Westview at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Westview knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Peoria likes a good challenge.
