Softball Recap: East Noble Extends Winning Streak to Three

East Noble came out on top against Angola on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run second inning. The Knights were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Hornets. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by seven runs or more this season.

Shaye Ritchie was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles she has posted over her last 12 matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Bri Bortner, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

The victory (which was East Noble's third in a row) raised their record to 12-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Angola, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Noble will head out to challenge Columbia City at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Angola, they will venture away from home to face off against Westview at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hornets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season.
