Basketball Recap: Beresford Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Beresford can now relate to. They lost 92-68 to the Dakota Valley Panthers on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Watchdogs in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost three in a row.

Dakota Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aubree Worden led the charge by en route to 20 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Worden is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last eight games she's played. Ella Otten was another key player, to rack up 20 points along with five assists and three steals.

Beresford now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Dakota Valley, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-2.

Beresford does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dakota Valley, they will take on Vermillion at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dakota Valley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
