The Classical Academy skates past Elizabeth with ease

Recap: The Classical Academy Titans vs. Elizabeth Cardinals

The Classical Academy Titans scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 72-34 victory over Elizabeth. The Classical Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 20 points or more this season.

Alaina Bonacquista continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 4-for-9 from deep and dropping a double-double on 26 points and ten steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Emma Megahan, who scored nine points along with four steals.

Despite the loss, Elizabeth still got an impressive performance from Jordan Martinez, who scored seven points along with five assists and five steals. London Machado was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with four steals.

The Classical Academy pushed their record up to 6-3 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.2 points per game. As for Elizabeth, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.

The Classical Academy will head out on the road to challenge Berthoud at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Berthoud will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 216th, while The Classical Academy is ranked 79th). As for Elizabeth, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mitchell at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mitchell comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last eight games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
