Softball Recap: Pleasant Valley Extends Winning Streak to Three

Pleasant Valley extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 10-6 in the process. They blew past the Pocono Mountain West Panthers 13-3. Considering the Bears have won ten matches by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Kailyn Getz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Getz was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, Jovie Valenzuela was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. She also snagged a stolen base, marking her first of the season. Emma DePalma was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Pleasant Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .533. They are 8-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

As for Pocono Mountain West, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

On Pocono Mountain West's side, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Straub, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.

Coming up, Pleasant Valley will host East Stroudsburg South at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pocono Mountain West, they will venture away from home to challenge Stroudsburg at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mountaineers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
