Folks in Sand Springs (Okla.) will remember this one as "The Miracle in Muskogee."

Trailing 25-24 with six seconds to go Thursday night against unbeaten Muskogee, the Sandites elected to go for the win and produced a play for the ages.

Sand Springs' successful 2-point attempt featured a tipped pass, a runner retreat that took the ball 23 yards from the original line of scrimmage, a lateral and finally a couple of big hits that propelled senior receiver Josh Taber a dozen yards into the end zone.

Taber was the hero but quarterback Hunter Greathouse was heroic and heady in keeping the play alive.

Sand Springs improved to 5-2 on the season with the 26-25 win. The loss was the first of the season for Muskogee, a top five team in the state according to the MaxPreps computer rankings.
