Softball Recap: Montwood Falls Short of Permian in the Playoffs

Montwood and Permian squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Montwood had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 13-11. Even if the Rams couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Jaeda Quinones made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Trinity Munoz was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple.

Montwood is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 26-10. As for Permian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 19-13-2 record this season.

While Montwood had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
