Softball Preview: Delta Rabbits vs. North Sanpete Hawks        
        
		
            Delta hasn't had much luck against North Sanpete recently, but that could start to change  on Tuesday. The Delta Rabbits will head out on the road to  take on  the North Sanpete Hawks  at 3:30  p.m. Delta has given up an average of 14.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
Delta is headed into Tuesday's   match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game  dating back to last season on Saturday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost  16-8 to Ogden, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
 Elee Anderson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  got on base  in all three of her plate appearances with two  RBI and one  double. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in April of 2024.  Brinley Styler also deserves some recognition as  she  snagged her first  stolen base of the season.
 Even though they lost, Delta  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ogden struck out eight times.
Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask North Sanpete). Everything went their way against Canyon View on Tuesday as North Sanpete made off with  a  14-2 win. With that  victory, the Hawks brought their scoring average up to 6.3  runs per game.
 Shea Rawlinson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She  struck out six batters over  five innings while giving up just two earned runs off   four  hits. Rawlinson was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with one  home run and two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Rylee Stewart, who  went 2-for-3 with one  home run and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Alivia Madsen, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-5.
 Delta's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for North Sanpete, their win  ended  a  five-game drought on the road  dating back to last season and  puts them at 3-4.
 Delta suffered a grim  15-0 defeat to North Sanpete  when the teams last played  back in May of 2024. Can Delta avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
