Boylan Catholic had lost three straight, but after bumping their record up to 2-4 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They took down the Rockford Auburn Knights 42-28. The Titans' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Alex Hernandez was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 198 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 12.4 yards per carry. Caiden Gates was in the mix too, providing Boylan Catholic with two TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Boylan Catholic was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 222 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

As for Rockford Auburn, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5. The defeat continues a trend for them in their meetings with Boylan Catholic: they've now lost seven in a row.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gavin Sanders, who picked up 251 receiving yards and three scores. Sanders' longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Xzavier Lindhe, who threw for 286 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 13.6 yards per attempt.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boylan Catholic will challenge Hononegah at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The Indians' defense has only allowed 12.7 points per game this season, so the Titans' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Rockford Auburn, they will take on Belvidere North at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Knights will need to watch out since the Blue Thunder have now posted at least 31 points in their last four games.
