Preview: Scott Beavers vs. Holcomb Longhorns
After three games on the road, Scott is heading back home. They will take on the Holcomb Longhorns at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Scott was able to grind out a solid victory over Lakin, taking the game 47-36. The victory was all the more spectacular given Scott's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while Lakin is ranked 23rd).
Jackson Rumford continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 33 points and nine rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Scott's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooks Bailey, who scored five points.
Meanwhile, Holcomb sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 50-47 win over Ulysses on Tuesday.
Scott's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-7. As for Holcomb, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6.
