Softball Recap: Grimsley Wins Going Away Against Asheboro

Grimsley won the last time they faced Asheboro and things went their way on Wednesday too. Everything went the Grimsley Whirlies' way against the Asheboro Blue Comets as the Grimsley Whirlies made off with a 24-7 victory. The Whirlies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by 15 runs or more this season.

The win made it two in a row for Grimsley and bumps their season record up to 3-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Asheboro, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grimsley will square off against Ragsdale at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ragsdale is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.9 runs per game this season. As for Asheboro, they will take on Dudley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dudley has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.25 runs per game on average), something Asheboro will no doubt try to take advantage of.
