Basketball Recap: Sarasota Sailors vs. Poinciana Eagles
With a playoff win on the line, Sarasota rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They blew past the Poinciana Eagles 81-58. The Sailors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 games by 21 points or more this season.
Sarasota found their leader in sophomore John Lackaff, who went 10-for-15 to rack up 30 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Oliver Boyle, who went 5-for-11 en route to 11 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists.
Poinciana lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Javonte Simpson-Lee, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten boards. Simpson-Lee is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Ernest Nunn was another key player, putting up 15 points.
