Yuma dropped their record down to 20-6-1 on Monday, which also ended the team's eight-game streak of wins. They fell 6-2 to the Kofa Kings. The Criminals were red-hot at the plate heading into the matchup (they scored no less than ten runs in the six games prior), but the Kings' pitchers proved too tough.

Andres Ortiz was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

As for Kofa, they now have a winning record of 11-10. The victory made it back-to-back wins for they.

On Kofa's side, Sebastian Mendoza tossed a big game, striking out ten batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Those ten strikeouts gave Mendoza a new career-high.

At the plate, Ryan Rosas was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Kofa's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 8-10 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Julio Reina, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
