Basketball Recap: Wylie East Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Wylie East can now relate to. They took a 57-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the DeSoto Eagles on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 371st, while the Eagles are ranked 141st).

Wylie East's loss dropped their record down to 18-18. As for DeSoto, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-16 record this season.

Wylie East does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for DeSoto, they will challenge Cypress Springs on Monday. Cypress Springs will roll in looking for their 26th straight victory, something DeSoto surely won't give up without a fight.
