Recap: Ocracoke Dolphins vs. Bear Grass Charter Bears
The Ocracoke Dolphins's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 65-9 loss at the hands of Bear Grass Charter. Ocracoke was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-4.
Leading Bear Grass Charter to victory were Aubrey Dotson and Hylee (Al) Jarrett. Dotson scored 12 points, while Jarrett scored 13 points along with five steals. Caroline Harrell was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Ocracoke's defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-10. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.5 points per game. As for Bear Grass Charter, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-5.
Ocracoke will head out on the road to challenge the Hurricanes at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bear Grass Charter, they will be playing at home against the Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hobgood Charter's defense has only allowed 28.9 points per game this season, so the Bears' offense will have their work cut out for them.
