If Wheatland was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Center last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wheatland Pirates took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oakmont Vikings on Wednesday. The Pirates' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

While Wheatland ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 22-25, 25-19, 25-17.

Wheatland's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Oakmont, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Coming up, Wheatland will be playing in front of their home fans against Yuba City at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Oakmont, they are taking a road trip to face off against Mira Loma at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
