Basketball Recap: Franklin Towne Victorious

Franklin Towne posted their closest win since January 24th on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 58-56 victory over the Martin Luther King Cougars.

Franklin Towne had a senior duo take command as Carlo Quattrone dropped a double-double with 22 points and ten boards and Jayden Quattrone shot 63% from the field on his way to 13 points and five steals. Carlo is becoming a predictor of the Warriors' success: when he posts at least ten rebounds the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Joe Griffis was another key player, putting up six points.

Franklin Towne smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, Martin Luther King still got an impressive performance from Shaheam Burton, who posted 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alim Childs, who earned 13 points.

Franklin Towne's record now sits at 4-2. As for Martin Luther King, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
