Baseball Game Preview: Village Tech Viper Squid vs. Keene Chargers

For the second straight game, Village Tech will face off against Keene. The Viper Squid will venture away from home to take on the Chargers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Village Tech knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Keene likes a good challenge.

Village Tech took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They never let Keene get on the board and left with a 16-0 win.

Angel Ontiveros made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Carter Gray was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Jordan Morales also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

Village Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in three consecutive games.

Village Tech's record is now 2-8. As for Keene, they moved to 6-12 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
