Football Game Preview: Vero Beach Indians vs. Somerset Academy Panthers

The Vero Beach Indians will square off against the Somerset Academy Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Vero Beach will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Vero Beach's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 49-0 victory over Treasure Coast. Considering the Indians have won six contests by more than 28 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Efrem White continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 240 yards and three touchdowns while completing 90% of his passes, and also rushing for 41 yards and a pair of TDs. Jonathan Hillsman was another key player, picking up 86 receiving yards and one score.

Meanwhile, Somerset Academy fell victim to Central and their airtight defense on Friday. They had to suffer through a 39-0 loss at the hands of the Rockets. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 259th, while the Rockets are ranked fifth).

Somerset Academy's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-5. As for Vero Beach, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.
