Soccer Game Preview: Boaz vs. Crossville

The Boaz Pirates will square off against the Crossville Lions at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Boaz will be strutting in after a win while Crossville will be coming in after a loss.

Boaz's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Scottsboro. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, Crossville was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They lost 4-1 to Hewitt-Trussville. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked 46th, while the Huskies are ranked eighth).

Boaz pushed their record up to 8-3-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those four matches. As for Crossville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.
