Baseball Recap: Williston Comes Up Short

Williston and Trenton squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Williston had to settle for second. They fell 6-1 to the Tigers. The loss continues a trend for the Mighty Red Devils in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost four in a row.

Williston got a good showing from Jacob Hassell, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Hassell has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Williston saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colby Jansen, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Williston's defeat dropped their record down to 18-12. As for Trenton, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That somehow still isn't as good as their 21-5 record this season.

While Williston had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Saturday.
