Baseball Recap: Wister Wildcats vs. Lindsay Leopards
Wister never let their opponents score on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Lindsay Leopards as the Wister Wildcats made off with an 8-0 win. The eight-run effort marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Kord Fenton made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Four bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Dartyn Meeks was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Easton Turnipseed, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
Wister always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
