Baseball Recap: Niles Notre Dame Takes a Loss

Niles Notre Dame was the 10-9 winner over Carmel when they last played one another on Monday, but their luck changed this time around. The Dons fell just short of the Corsairs by a score of 16-15 on Wednesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (ten), the Dons still had to take the loss.

Dominic Holton was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Ryan Cisneroz, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Niles Notre Dame's defeat was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-17-1. As for Carmel, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-18.

Looking ahead, Niles Notre Dame will be playing at home against Marian Catholic at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Carmel, they are taking a road trip to challenge Evanston at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.
