Volleyball Recap: Fleming Island Victorious

Fleming Island won the last time they faced Atlantic Coast and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Golden Eagles walked away with a 3-1 win over the Stingrays. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Golden Eagles.

Fleming Island walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the fourth set). The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-21, 22-25, 25-15.

Hanna Kophamer had a dynamite game, getting 20 digs and six aces. Those six aces gave her a new career-high. Saniya Robinson also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Fleming Island was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 27 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Fleming Island's record is now 12-4. As for Atlantic Coast, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-11.

Coming up, Fleming Island will take on Santa Fe at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Atlantic Coast, they will square off against Englewood at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
