Basketball Recap: Nova Takes a Loss

Nova lost against Boyd Anderson back in November of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Nova Titans fell 61-54 to the Boyd Anderson Cobras. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 391st, while the Cobras are ranked 112th).

Boyd Anderson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Terrence Walker, who posted 16 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Demarcus Deroche, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 12 points.

Nova dropped their record down to 7-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Boyd Anderson, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nova will head out to square off against Western at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Western will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Nova surely won't give up without a fight. As for Boyd Anderson, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Dillard at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Boyd Anderson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.4 points per game this season.
