Basketball Recap: New Hope Christian Academy Takes a Loss

New Hope Christian Academy has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 57-53 heartbreaker at the hands of the Patriot Prep Academy Eagles. If the Statesmen were looking for revenge after losing 70-65 to them when the teams met on Tuesday, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Patriot Prep Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mason Seward out in front who went 6 of 10 en route to 15 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Seward has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Thomas, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.

New Hope Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Patriot Prep Academy, they pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games.
