Inderkum is 0-4 against East Nicolaus since May of 2021 but things could change on Thursday. The Tigers will welcome the Spartans at 4:00 p.m. Inderkum is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
On Wednesday, Inderkum came out on top against Vista del Lago by a score of 4-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).
Emily Jacobus spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits.
On the hitting side, Ku' ulei Chouteau was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Anyssa Luttig, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Inderkum hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, East Nicolaus fell victim to Woodcreek and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They fell just short of the Timberwolves by a score of 1-0. The Spartans' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Stevie Knight was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over 6.2 innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.
Inderkum is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for East Nicolaus, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-2.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Inderkum hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320. However, it's not like East Nicolaus struggles in that department as they've averaged .397. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
