Football Recap: Old Forge Takes a Loss

Old Forge had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Sunday they dropped down to 0-6 to make it seven. They took a 38-20 bruising from the Lackawanna Trail Lions. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 498th, while the Lions are ranked 246th).

As for Lackawanna Trail, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.0 points over those games.

It was another big night for Isaac Ryon, who rushed for 96 yards and two scores on only nine carries, and also picked up 58 receiving yards and one TD. His longest reception was for an impressive 58 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per catch total. Another rusher making a difference was Carter Edwards, who rushed for 100 yards and one touchdown on only 13 carries.
