Baseball Recap: North Putnam Find Success

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but North Putnam ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the South Putnam Eagles, sneaking past 5-4. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Brayden Chew was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of North Putnam's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 2-4 when he doesn't).

North Putnam's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for South Putnam, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 3-4.

Coming up, North Putnam will square off against Parke Heritage at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wolves will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight. As for South Putnam, they are taking a road trip to challenge North Central at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles are facing the Thunderbirds at the right time seeing as the Thunderbirds are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
