Softball Recap: Cedar Bluff Comes Up Short

Cedar Bluff was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 13-10 to the Sand Rock Wildcats. Even if the Tigers couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Kylie Vadon was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Rylie Walker was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Even though they lost, Cedar Bluff was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .378. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Cedar Bluff's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Sand Rock, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-8 record this season.

Cedar Bluff will square off against Gaston at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sand Rock, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Sand Rock Wildcats face off against Spring Garden Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Spring Garden will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Sand Rock surely won't give up without a fight.
