Basketball Recap: Gabriela Rojas' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Sunset over Braddock

Sunset lost against Braddock back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Sunset Knights fell 47-34 to the Braddock Bulldogs.

Sunset lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Gabriela Rojas, who posted nine points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Rojas has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Gleidy Flores, who had 17 points.

Sunset's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Braddock, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sunset will take on Immaculata-La Salle in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Braddock, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Southwest at 5:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
