Baseball Recap: Edcouch-Elsa Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Edcouch-Elsa's offense. They fell 3-0 to the Rivera Raiders on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Raiders from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Nathan Garza was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He struck out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one triple.

Edcouch-Elsa dropped their record down to 2-7 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Rivera, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

While Edcouch-Elsa had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
