Softball Game Preview: Daniel Lions vs. Berea Bulldogs

The Daniel Lions will take on the Berea Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Last Wednesday, Daniel got the win against Waccamaw by a conclusive 19-3. That looming 19-3 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Lions yet this season.

Daniel got a massive performance out of Bryn Chasteen, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Chasteen a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Emily Gooch, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Daniel hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in five consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Berea). They were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over Eastside on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

The victory got Berea back to even at 3-3-1. As for Daniel, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
