Conotton Valley has gone 8-2 against Newcomerstown recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Rockets will square off against the Trojans at 5:00 p.m. Conotton Valley will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak.

On Friday, Conotton Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Garaway, taking the game 6-1.

Maddison Kelley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Conotton Valley's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ava Williams, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

New Philadelphia hit Newcomerstown with a four-run fourth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Trojans came up short against the Quakers, falling 10-1. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Trojans couldn't push the score so high this time.

Conotton Valley pushed their record up to 17-1 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Newcomerstown, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Newcomerstown's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Conotton Valley has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Newcomerstown, though, as they've been averaging only 3.3 strikeouts. Will Conotton Valley keep running through batters, or will the Trojans buck the trend?

Conotton Valley beat Newcomerstown 11-8 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rockets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
