Baseball Game Preview: Horse Creek Academy Stallions vs. Gilbert Indians

The Horse Creek Academy Stallions will challenge the Gilbert Indians at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Horse Creek Academy will head out to face Gilbert after giving up their first home loss of the season last Tuesday. The Stallions fell 5-1 to Andrew Jackson Academy.

Horse Creek Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaxon Martin, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Gilbert ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Brookland-Cayce 2-1. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 20, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Gilbert's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Horse Creek Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.
