Basketball Game Preview: Monta Vista Matadors vs. Homestead Mustangs

Monta Vista is 2-8 against Homestead since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Monta Vista Matadors will host the Homestead Mustangs at 7:45 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Monta Vista comes in on three and Homestead on nine.

Monta Vista will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Saratoga, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. Monta Vista came out on top against Saratoga by a score of 73-65 on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Homestead earned a 56-46 win over Lynbrook on Wednesday.

Monta Vista has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.2 points per game. As for Homestead, they pushed their record up to 17-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
