Baseball Recap: Lawrence Upper Takes a Loss

Lawrence Upper was the 14-1 winner over Garrett Morgan when they last played one another back in April of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Lions came up short against the Falcons on Thursday, falling 13-3. That's two games in a row now that the Lions have lost by exactly ten runs.

Nick Matteo made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Lawrence Upper and nudges their season record down to 6-6. As for Garrett Morgan, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Lawrence Upper will head out on the road to face off against Non Varsity Opponent at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Garrett Morgan, they will face off against Shaw at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in the Falcons' favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while the Cardinals have been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road.
