Basketball Recap: Dixon Has No Trouble Against St. Elizabeth

Dixon lost a heartbreaker the last time they played St. Elizabeth, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of 5's contest. The Dixon Bulldogs blew past the St. Elizabeth Hornets 65-41 on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Hornets back in December of 2024, they had to take a 62-59 loss.

St. Elizabeth lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Nick Heckemeyer, who posted 12 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Williams, who earned two points along with five blocks and three steals.

Dixon's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for St. Elizabeth, they moved to 10-7 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dixon will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Licking at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th. St. Elizabeth has already played their next match (against Chamois), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
