Baseball Recap: Monsignor Scanlan Takes a Loss

Monsignor Scanlan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Cardinal Hayes Cardinals, falling 7-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Crusaders of the 20-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2021.

Monsignor Scanlan's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Cardinal Hayes, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-8.

Coming up, Monsignor Scanlan will venture away from home to take on Salesian at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Cardinal Hayes, they will host Iona Prep at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Gaels' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Cardinals' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
